Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule my first session?

To schedule your first session, please email us at kimberlyjtucker2017@gmail.com or call us at 727-509-3960.

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is also known as talk therapy, counseling, or, simply, therapy. Psychotherapy can provide a wonderful opportunity for deep healing and significant personal growth.

How long will I be in therapy?

It is impossible to say. Because each person is unique and responds differently to treatment, there is no specific time frame for therapy. Our goal is to give you effective tools to use in your daily life to get you feeling better as soon as possible. Some people can resolve their issues in a few months while others require longer term treatment.

To whom do you provide services?

We provide individual therapy for adults, adolescents, and children who are experiencing emotional and/or interpersonal difficulties.

Are the therapy sessions confidential?

The confidentiality of all communications between a client and a therapist is protected by law. Aside from certain specific situations, a psychotherapist cannot tell anyone what you have discussed in therapy or even that you are in therapy without permission. Please visit our privacy page for more information.

How much does therapy cost?

We charge 200 per hour.

What session formats do you offer?

We offer:

  • 50 minute individual in-person sessions

  • Longer sessions if needed for EMDR or couples therapy

  • Online video sessions

How do the online video sessions work?

Online video sessions can be a useful option for clients that live far from our office, are on vacation, are out of town, or are simply too busy to make the trip to our office. You may wish to have all of your sessions online or to supplement your in-person sessions with online sessions. The choice is yours!

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance. We are what is known as an “out of network provider”. Many insurance plans have out-of-network benefits that typically reimburse between 50% and 80% of costs after your deductible is met. The deductibles can be quite high, and vary by insurance provider and policy. We recommend you verify your benefits with your own insurance carrier prior to session. We will provide you with a Superbill, which is essentially a receipt for services that has all the information your insurance provider needs to reimburse you for services. We will explain your out-of-network coverage and mental health/behavioral health benefits to you in a way that makes sense. Our goal is to make this process as easy as possible for you.

Because we have specialized training that is not easy to find among providers in our area (Registered Play Therapist, and EMDR), it might be possible to ask you insurance provider for authorization for a Single Case Authorization.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by credit card, cash, and check. Payments are made after each session. Pineapples Therapy can keep a credit card on file after your initial session for your convenience.

What is your no-show / cancellation policy?

Due to the nature of the therapeutic process, Pineapples Therapy has a strict no show / late cancellation policy. Clients are charged the full session fee for any session not cancelled with at least 24 hours advance notice. These no-show / late cancellation fees are typically not reimbursed by insurance. We always do our best to schedule make-up sessions at a convenient times.

May I refer you to others?

Our practice thrives on referrals from our clients! If you like the services you receive, please refer us to your friends and family.
