WHAT TO EXPECT AT PINEAPPLES THERAPY:

We believe at Pineapples Therapy that respect for the client is the foundation on which all of our helping interventions are built. Our first rule is to do no harm. We strive to remain competent and committed. Our clinicians continuously build upon their knowledge and understanding of the therapeutic process through professional training and consultation.

We here at Pineapples Therapy are “for the client”. We will always treat you with compassion, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. We are not here to judge you, nor are we here to force our own agenda onto you. We value you for exactly who you are.

We will help you identify and challenge the consequences of your choices that may be causing you distress, but we will always strive to understand YOUR point of view.

We will always pursue your agenda, and not our own. When we say we will treat you with empathy, we don’t mean we will feel sorry for you. It is rather a trait wherein we will attempt to understand your thoughts and feelings “from the inside”, or as YOU yourself think and feel about your circumstances. In gaining a better understanding of your world view, we will be able to use this information to help you understand yourself better.

Carl Jung said, “Until the unconscious becomes conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate”.

At Pineapples Therapy we:

Place the needs of YOU the client above all other considerations

Identify and focus on whatever frame of reference is central to YOU the client

Do not impose a social or political agenda on the counseling relationship

Make sure the therapists own values do not adversely affect YOUR best interest

Avoid cultural stereo-typing

Create an environment that supports tolerance
